For some reason my gamecube controller doesn't work with any of my games i load through usb loader it works perfectly on the Homebrew channel and configurable usb loader but when it gets to the game it's like the gamecube ports just shut-off nothing happens when i press any buttons. Ive already downgraded my wii from 4.3 to 4.1 thinking that was the problem i installed rev20 and its still not working. I don't see many people with this problem but if you have had it and fixed it please tell me how.

Edit: I am trying to play SSBB I have tried Mario kart still nothing. It works fine on virtual console games I dont know if it works with original discs because all of mine are broke

Edit2: I just tried mkwii through neogamma via disc and it still didnt work.

Well...lemme start out by the obvious: a whole lot of wii games don't support the gamecube controller. I know SSBB supports it, but other than that...which games are you trying, and are you sure they should support it?

Other than that...it should be an IOS problem (controllers obviously are input-output support). The latest version is v21 - or even better: rev21d2x version 3. Using one of those may help.

(for the record: it is seriously ill-advised to downgrade your wii, especially for something like this. The firmware works very different from other consoles, so it's only an unneeded risk).

The problem is you cant play most Wii games with a gamecube controller, because they are not compiled to work with gamecube controllers. It's possible with a hack though, but that's not gonna happen.

You didnt say anything about "Wii games that optionally support GC controllers", but "Wii games". That's a big difference.

You made 2 other mistakes:

1) You did not specify your USB loaders that you used to load SSBB (you mentioned CFG loader, but didnt say you used it to load SSBB)
2) You did not specify the IOS/cIOS that you used to load SSBB (rev21/20 is not sufficient since there are many "base IOS" combinations possible

I have tried 222 248 and 249 and I used Configruable Usb Loader to run brawl from a usb hardrive. The gamecube controller used to work then idk what happened last time it worked i think is when my sis played mario kart wii then it just stopped working in games for some reason

Ok, before this i thought you have some 3rd party controller that has an odd compatibility. If your controller works when you start games via disc channel and doesn't when you start the same game via usb loader, then it's an usb loader problem.

Gamecube controllers aren't accessed via IOS.
It isn't?
Okay...sorry for the confusion. I didn't know that.

(I'm glad for it...now I don't have to point out that "cIOS249" can be just about ANY cIOS, depending on what you installed there).

At first you should try some game that supports gamecube controllers and start it from disc channel. If that works or not, is a very important information in narrowing down what's wrong.

So right now you have it working for VC/WiiWare booted from Wii menu, and basically all homebrew, and not working for disc based games from loaders?

Hey, I got an idea!
Use your frikkin' Wii remotes!
You DID get them with the console, correct?
But I understand your dilemma. Some games play easier with a button controller.
