What firmware are you running?
Are you allways connected to wii connect 24?

I hate modders, but ill try to help.

1.connect via the wii's wifi connction and do a system update

2.it will update you to 3.0u

3.play any game you want now as long as it is your own region(ntsc-usa) you don't have to worry about pacthing with brickblocker or regionfrii

Why would you want to update with Wii connect over a disc patch? Are there issues if its an NTSC game on an NTSC box?

It doesn't destroy the Wii, that much I can tell you. If it does, your modchip just hates you, but updating worked fine with my Wiikey (PAL and 3.0E, though, but I doubt it makes much of a difference with NTSC and 3.0U).

If you got a NTSC-U Wii, you can probably update directly from the MP3 disc, but I advise you to take the WiiConnect24 way. A bad burn during upgrade and you're kinda screwed

so why would ntsc update "destroy" ntsc console anyway? : D
Protip: you can update patches in the game without updating 3.0U

it's the safest way if you're talking about burnt games. in case the game is a bad burn, bad iso, or not your region and you thought it was

Yeah, always do the update via the console than you have no worries about bricking a Wii. The bricking issues so far always trace back to someone updating their Wii with the wrong region code. That won't happen if you update via the console.

Having said that I have done all previous updates via disc (but 3.0 was console). If you know you've got a disc from your region you'll have no issues.

for a while when doing the 3/0 update i thought it was stuck too it wa sjust really really slow
try again and leave it for an hour and if it still hasnt moved then go ahead and burn mario and mp3 but make sure they are YOUR REGION! then you shold be all set

no worries
