I just made a pretty sweet deal on a ps3 slim and a ps4 for 50 bucks. The ps4 is also running fw 6.02 so that is pretty nice. The only downside is that the seller informed me that I should solder the cpu because of an know problem with the hardware. Acording to him the ps4 worked great if you played a few hours, the problem could happen when you restarted the console after it had cooled down. Then it could shut down after a few a little while just to work fine after a little while.
I have jet to try it since I just got it. But based on the fact he gave me is this the rigth thing to do? Also how big chance do I have for bricking the ps4? I have done some soldering but am no expert

You don’t need to solder the cpu if you did the system wouldn’t turn on at all

If anything it probably just needs a super good cleaning and fresh thermal paste
