Unlock US Cellular to Straight Talk

The phone model I have is Galaxy S 3 III R530, I ordered the phone on impulse because it was a pretty good deal. I still have 30 days to return it so no biggie, was just wondering if there are ways to unlock this and get on other cdma networks such as straight talk. Also if flash goes bad are there any ways to recover smoothly and can I be on the latest 4.2.2 fw?

The first thing you do in the rooting/flashing process is install a custom recovery (I recommend TWRP), as long as you have a good backup you should be able to recover. I've been playing with custom roms for over a year and I've never had to restore. Just make sure you install from a trusted source like XDA, if you're looking for a rom I recommend Task's AOKP.

Thanks for that, I'm reading around and doesnt look as if it's possible even though it's a CDMA service and straight talk supports CDMA.
