Are there any news on this? SD Cards are expensive and even 400GB are easily filled up by now
unless nintendo make that support, don't rise your hope.
what they mean here is to insert the dongle and activate the hack when in dock mode, not HDD support.

Dude, be careful of getting the Piracy Syndrome (having too much games that you don’t play any of them because you can’t decide which one to play) ... it’s really... really.. bad.
Thats the worst thing that I have ever suffered. (In the Wii times, there are still games that I haven´t opened yet)

So that's what is happening to me, play 5 mins of one, tought it wasnt worthy then go to the next, never satisfied. I should start all the games with an open mind and just give them an opportunity.

Now you guys know how rich people feel - they can buy anything they want but they won't enjoyed it as much as working hard and saving up to buy the things you love.

Things that come easily will not be appreciated. You can have all the wealth and everything but you will take everything for granted.

where's your source for this claim? Or are you making an assumption?
from the message you wrote
Me:
"I don't know if you've mentioned this before but USB drive would be really nice for me since I only use the switch in docked mode.

thank you very much. "

Them:
"Hello Comp,

it's just assumption because make new slot as reader is hard, unless they replace the micro SD slot for HDD.
but making the payload works on dock seems more reasonable (however if you think about it, it will only works if you have AutoRCM installed, because puting the switch in the dock will force the switch to turn on)

Data can travel via dock usb  do not need to replace msd reader.

And if i hard power off my switch it does not turn on when plugged into dock, but it does charge.
No green light. not in rcm when removed from dock.

If the switch can mount usb drives then it's a simple change to load games from usb instead of micro sd, if not then they need to write a bit more code first to allow it.

true, data can travel via dock usb, but where that data goes? there is only one usb c that connect and charge the switch, also by replacing the micro SD, i meant in the switch there is two memory locations, the NAND and the microSD, you wants to add 3rd storage location without heavy programming to the Horizon OS?

"if"
but the switch can't right now mount usb drive.
only usb cables and wireless dongle like 8bito and charging cables, not a storage device.

the data goes to the switch via usbc of course exactly like a bluetooth dongle for controllers transmits its data to the switch via the usb c port,, There is more memory locations then that, but i understand what you mean.. Yes a little coding will be needed for hdd to work and to be mounted granted but that's what or how a hdd feature would go...

Not without support or coding for a storage device correct.

It might be challenging to make a usb loader but making a docked payload injector is pointless and a waste of time when you can just use the dongle and then dock the switch. So i'm fairly certain that they meant hdd loading.

Its a shame because me and @mattytrog were talking about payload injection on the dock.
I think matty cracked it didn't you ? or did i miss read something.

Anyway debate aside,, i would still like a source of information on the hdd support if any and get back on topic.

The file system filter that allows patched data to be inserted would allow data from usb to be inserted.

Same thing happened on the wii. Homebrew supported usb2 mass storage, official OS never did AFAIK.

And some time future Nintendo sneaks update that kind was made for cheap docking devices causing not really a ban but bricks... I am only consider genuine dock even if will be as some one said as "ultimete SX dock" if that come out i will pas such a device. Nintendo also was little fucker with 5.0, any one know it is only caused by some changes in firmware? or this was hardware (dock) fail? I do not know if the company will have right to do such an act when device was used in doing things that was wasn't designed (alowed). Also I am not happy with company that blocking my choices like my iPad - I wasn't know that apple still blocking using third party cables - they piss on yes voluntary signed EU document to use the USB standard. All companies in the industry have signed and still Apple mows money on accessories and adapters at a greatly inflated price.
Also noticed good practiques like Samsung have in matter to unlock bootloader since act is possible, but it is registred and every authorized servce know about it and could cash you more for service... but still better than Apple which not sell original components to fix device by other services (Samsung have this option).
Same practigue has Xiaomi... I bought few days ago flagship Mi8 with 256GB ROM, but read after paying that it is probably made for Chinese marked (same specs and hardware) but if some of you are interested on this model (damn good) on Aliexpress it is sold as Global Rom version that have unlocked bootloader with flashed Global ROM probably flashed by hot booted TWRP - everything works also the worldwide LTE bands... but if you flash same rom by Xiaomi flash tool you are in the ass... because company prevent this kind of flash because flashing rom without custom recovery causes brick (relock bootloader). Also damn chinese resellers on Aliexpress not all mention what is allowed to do (mostly few of them did). But bricking by use diferent rom is sick.

This practigue should be banned!

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.
