I want to download USA games

or will it give me the "channel not usable" error?

use it so:
C:\Documents and Settings\\Freethewads.exe title.wad a
You must set the files and the wad un the same map !

what does "freethewads" do anyway?

it remove the region of the wad, unfortunately, not every wad can use with freethewads.
