You could just install Mac OS on a jumpdrive.
Put it into your USB port...on start up just choose to boot Mac.

Or you could just buy a Mac.

Right now, I'm really interested in desktop widgets and stuff. There's a program called AveDesk... it's pretty cool, but I got 1.13 and it crashes a lot and there's a really annoying tutorial EVERY TIME you open it. Very annoying.

I did see that, but it doesn't tell me anything. I haven't ever delt with skins before, so I don't even know what to look for

like litestep or darkstep

there was a mac specific shell replacement i used back in the day
i dont think they made it for xp though


I found out what it was. Macvision, but that guy doesnt update it anymore. He works for stardock now.

With those specs, you may be able to change the look, but it won't run any "smoother" than what you have now.

Only someone whos never been through the ordeal of trying to get OSX86 full functional would make such a naive comment.

Hehe, I had a partially functional OSX86. Gave up after a month though. Went back to Kubuntu which is just as pretty IMO, slightly faster and more practical.

Ubuntu with a KDE environment.

I did what you did a few years ago.
I used Y'z dock. Flyakite to replace system graphics. Objectbar to simulate file menu. A hacked uxtheme.dll (google it) to replace my windows theme with a OS-X lookalike. And firefox skins to make it look like safari.

Fun while it lasted, it looked pretty nice too.

Deviantart has a lot of mac themes for various things. Great place to head to if you want to make your desktop look good. A lot of wallpaper/skins/themes over there.

Hmmm. Didn't know that.

Y'know what? This thread just got me interested. I'm going to do this whole skinning thing again. I wonder what's been made since the last time I tried the windows - mac transformation.
