Turning my operating system into a MAC

Well, a while ago, I became interested in doing this after I was visited by my older brother for the holidays. He just bought a Mac laptop a while ago, and after using it for a couple of hours, I simply could NOT go back to my old computer >__> I just love the Mac operating system! It runs so much smoother, looks awesome... etc.

What would be the best way to turn my boring old Windows system into a Mac? I heard that Flyakite or something like that is good? What's the best thing to do in your experience?

Well, there are thousands of skins and programs to do this, mine is a pretty simple object bar and a program that hides desktops icons/start bar - but his PC runs smoother because it's newer and faster than yours, and you have a bunch of malware.

Macs do not do what I want so I have not been following it but the new x86 based stuff was tweaked to run on "standard" (i.e. stuff that does not have magic apple certification and a price tag to match) equipment a while back.

Other than that you are back to skins and explorer replacements.

Its actually possible to run both Windows and OS X on a normal PC. I haven't tried it as my older computer doesn't have a DVD Drive and the HDD isn't big enough... link

Right now, I'm trying to do it the replacement way.

I tried WindowBlinds, but HATED it. It took me forever to get it set up and working, and when it did, it went haywire, selected a completely different skin than the one I wanted, and it took me forever to fix it. I'm downloading StyleXP and seeing if that works any better.

Both illegal and unlikely. Even if you're lucky and have a compatible system, maintaining an osx86 system takes alot of technical know-how; I really wouldn't recommend it.

You liked the speed and style of OSX... so... you're... skinning windows?

I've never seen a windows styler-majig that doesn't impact performance slightly. And it'll still be a relatively unstable windows PC, just with faux fugly icons and a dock.

Yeah, I tried it. However, that's a dock, and I'm looking for a bar... like the little thing at the very top that says file, edit, view, stuff like that. Most Windows machines have it at the bottom with the "Start".

You can drag the start bar around on Windows.




Anyway.
The top bar on OSX also encapsulates the "File" Menus, etc. I don't think there's a way to do that on Windows.

I tried to do it on mine, but it looks really bad. It looks cheap, I can't change the skins because it's a free trial... Eh. I think I'll leave that part in old XP style.

My first advice is either buy a Mac or at least Hackintosh.

right click on your My Compuer, select properties.

I really don't mean to be rude, but if I could afford to buy a Mac whenever I felt like it, do you really think I would have made this thread? :\
