Hi,

I just hooked up my Wii for the first time in years. I’m trying to update everything and eventually be able to run GameCube backups from USB and a couple of other things.

It’s a Wii with GameCube support (has all the controller ports) on 4.3E with HBC installed (updated to 1.1.0 within the HBC today).

What I’d love to do, and I’m afraid I’ll brick my Wii if I don’t ask for help here, are these things:

1. Update HBC to 1.1.2? (Thought that was the newest, HBC itself however updated to 1.1.0)

2. HBC shows IOS58 v24.31, should I update somehow since 24.32 is the newest?

3. Update HackMii/BootMii? I currently have HackMii 1.0 running on the Wii. How should I update to the newest version? ATM it shows something along the line of “can’t use boot2 as boot1 is being used” or something like that.

4. Add support to run GameCube (and Wii) backups from one USB drive. Nintendont maybe?

5. Install a proper launcher like GX, to run Wii and GameCube games.

6. Install a large library of WiiWare/VC from wad (on SD or capable of swapping between SD and Wii storage)

7. Maybe install forwarder for the launcher and my favorite games.

I know I’m asking for a lot of help here, and I feel bad about it already. I’m just really afraid I could brick my console if I get anything wrong with the install of any IOS, wad, or GameCube USB support. Love my Wii ;) !

Any help would be apreciated a lot.

Thanks!

Well, things haven't really changed a lot, concerning how to update your Wii hacks. ModMii is still the easiest way to accomplish this. Running Gamecube and Wii games on the same fat32 formatted USB drive works really well, using USB Loader GX.
