So I downloaded a 9.2.0-20 cia pack and was searching how I can upgrade my console with it.
Me being hasty and just went to sysnand on rxMode and then opened up BigBlueMenu and tried to install all the firmware cia pack with it. It all finished without a problem, I turned off the console and tried to turn it on again, now all I see is black screens and the blue light.

So did I completely brick my console ? any one had same issue ? possible fixs ?

It's an old 3DS XL and it was on firmware 7 before I attemted the upgrade.

have you made a NAND backup? if you have, it's possible to restore the system. if not, your 3ds is close to dead. you can try to hold L+R+UP+A when turning on the console, but if that doesn't work, your 3ds is dead

If that doesn't work, how could you restore the NAND backup since you can't even boot up the 3DS?

there is a way for soldering 4(or 5 i think) wires to your motherboard, and those wires to a micro sd to sd card adapter, then use a sd card reader that is reported here to work with hard mods, to write the backup of your NAND.BIN file with win32DiskImager

I'm one of those people who don't like hardmodding, but if it's bricked and you don't do anything about it, I guess it was just a waste of money... :creep:

You were supposed to use Rxtools Devmode to upgrade your console.

Just to summarize the problem here:

RxMode clearly doesn't have sufficient stability to update the console through CIAs. (6.5/10 times it won't work.)
Either sysupdater or RxTools devmode would've done the trick for you.

Now your 3DS is bricked, the only way out of this, really, is a hardmod. Sorry about that. :(

I have a NAND backup, any easy way to restore to it ?
sorry

and sysupdater too.

if you hold L+R+UP+A whole turning on the console, does it start into some sort of update mode? Or does it just boot into the blue screen

Tried that, the screens keep black with the blue led on. basiclaly nothing changes.
ok, then your only hope is to hard mod it. you can contact @hundshamer , he is willing to hard mod any 3ds for a reasonable price with a good finished look.

I do'nt doubt that, I've seen him on the Wii U scene too, the only problem is that since I'm in France the shipping would be expencive even if his price was good ^^'.

That is what he said, my mistake was I did it on rxMode, not devmode (I didn't know how to do devmode then) and now I'm paying the price for my hastiness ^^.
So yeah, in that sense he's right, maybe just misunderstanding ?

This is wrong. Not either sysupdater OR rx dev mode would have done the trick. BOTH are needed
