Hacking Translate Jap version of RE

Just curious. Since there seems to be alot of game modding break throughs the past month or so, is there a possibility of translating these games? Since there is already the GC counter parts in English, and the Wii is a modified GameCube, could one replace these files with one another?

Let me know if I am way off the rocker here.

Why not just get the English games, I believe all of them (main series) have been ported to the Gamecube?

True, but they have been modified 'slightly' to take advantage of the Wiimote. Just want to try it out, just curious if its possible.

Oh yes, thats right they made Wii remakes in Japan for those, Hmm, Haven't heard of anyone translating these, I'll see f I can find anything

I'd love to see Captain Rainbow translated, but I doubt it.....

The only reason why I think RE is possible versus other Jap games, is they already have English versions of them. So no "translating" actually needs to be done. Just replacing files, if they are the same, or similar of course.

Open the main.dol with a hexeditor and look for the strings JAPN ENGL, if you find them switch them in ALL .dols and reburn. This is the method which seems to "translate" Metroid Prime 1 from japanese to english.

Okay if you use wii scrubber 1.4
and wglp.0.2
it will do all of that work for you

my copy is in enlish other than the desciptions of things

like the guns
says what it is in english but what it does in jap

if you need link I can provide them for you
