Hacking Total noob - will xecuter work?

Hi,

I’ve just got my self a switch. I did a brief amount of reading before getting it and was under the impression that if I bought the xecuter sx dongle I’d be able to run homebrew.
But I’ve just read that newer consoles have been patched? Am I right? Or is this regarding something else?
My switch is on firmware 6.0.0 and the serial begins with xaj70036.
Will I be able to hack my switch to run homebrew?
Sorry if these questions have already been answered on the forum but I’ve got bogged down reading so much, I don’t know if I’m coming or going and just seem to be getting more
Confused somehow.
Any help appreciated.

All you need is the TL;DR section. If it is not patched, SX OS will work regardless of the FW.

I just did mine today without the doggle but I bought the license. My old dusty switch is now clean lol. It's real easy. Sad side is becareful turning off your switch or your gonna have to inject payload again.
