ROM Hack Translation Tomodachi Collection: New Life Translation Progress

Hello everyone,

I created both a .cia and a .3ds file of Tomodachi Collection: New Life. I extracted the official CIA using HackingToolkit9DS.exe, then inserted the files from J-Lin (Fuffley) into the RomFS. I then recompiled it, and it worked.

However, I wanted a .3DS file, so I converted it using some converters. I’m afraid I can’t share the ROMs with you due to GBATemp moderation rules. But I can make a tutorial.

Steps:

1. Get the patch files from Gamebrew or Github on J-Lin (Fuffley)
2. Extract the CIA ROM using HackingToolkit9DS.exe (The ROM must be in the same folder, and the tool should be run as administrator)
3. Copy the patch files into the ExtractedRomFS folder (Select "Replace" when prompted)
4. Run HackingToolkit9DS.exe again as administrator and select Rebuild CIA

If you followed the steps correctly, you now have a working CIA ROM.

To convert it into a .3DS file:

Run 3DS To CIA Converter.bat with the ROM in the same folder

Select Option 3, then Option 6, and follow the instructions

You now have the ROM in .3DS format!
