Hacking To Hack or not to Hack?

I feel as though this qualifies as an age old question. Here's my deal.

What is the difference in hacking my 3DS rather than buying a Sky3DS cart? (Other than the cost)

I successfully installed home brew on my old 3DS fw 11.9, and I am looking for the best option to download all new 3DS games in a safe manner and still be able to update them.

-If I hack my system do the games stay on the homescreen as if I've downloaded them from the eShop? Or do they load off of the SD card like a flashcart?
-Is it safe to play the hacked system online? Say if I downloaded Pokemon Y and wanted to play an online battle, would that be doable/safe?
-How am I able to save my progress in each different game?

I fully understand all of these questions have been asked and answered before. However, I am becoming impatient and don't want to search for everything Thank you so much in advance for anyone willing to help.

CFW is far more convenient then the Sky3DS. With CFW, there's no actual danger in updating the system, while the Sky3DS constantly breaks with each update. Another reason is that the the homebrew SNES9X emulator is pretty good at emulating SNES games, and NES and GBC games are usually emulated with custom VC injections.

The games will stay on homescreen but their data is naturally on the SD card.

As long as you do not use cheats online then it is safe.

The games will each have an automatic save or you would have to save from the menu within the game..

Everything you can do with that cart you can do for free on a 3ds and more. If you follow 3ds.guide (that's a link) it'll tell you how to not be banned (most likely). The games will be on the home screen, but there are some alternatives

You're dealing with unofficial community-supported software here. You'd better get used to patiently searching, because sooner or later you're probably going to run into a jam – especially if you don't bother reading about these things before you do them – and there won't necessarily be someone handy to help you out, even if you can explain what you did.

Dick move to test your "skills" on someone else's console. If you follow the instructions EXACTLY you'll be fine. Before the possible question arises, No we can't tell you where to get games, Freeshop doesn't work anymore and there's no working equivalent, and just use google to find anything you can't here

Jesus Christ this is a really unwelcome community. Obviously I've done my own research on hacking consoles. I know where to get my own damn and have done so for emulators. Not that I have to defend myself to anyone. I only wanted a few opinions but you can all go suck a fat one. Later haters.
