Gaming [TIP] DLC Region Compatibility

Ever had that gut feeling where you really want a game but can't decide if you would reap all the accompanying bonuses from it even if you already have that game on another region? Well, here's a quick tip.

Each released PS4 game in the world contains a "Content ID" and this ID defines a lot of stuff, from placeholder names, to Sony's internal naming schemes, but one thing is for sure is that IDs can be shared among regions and distributions i.e Digital or Physical. This ID also defines what DLCs should work on a specific game.

Format:
AAAAAA-BBBBBBBBB_BB-CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC

Where:
A, B, C = Content ID
A, B = Service ID
A = Service ID Prefix
B = NP Title ID
C = Entitlement Label

Let's take Kingdom Hearts III as an example, the following Content IDs defined and had been obtained from the their respective PlayStation Store pages;

Here's the deal, DLCs of any game with the same NP Title ID will work with one another. Assume that you have separate accounts of all regions on your PS4 with DLCs in them along with any physical or digital distribution of the game, to further break it down with the given Kingdom Hearts III data above;

-A USA game will not work with JPN account DLC
-A USA game will not work with GBR account DLC
-A USA game will work with SGP account DLC
-A USA game will work with HKG account DLC

-A GBR game will not work with SGP account DLC
-A GBR game will not work with JPN account DLC
-A GBR game will work with UAE account DLC
-A GBR game will work with AUS account DLC
