Okay I have read many threads and none of them fit my issue exactly so I thought I would post about it.
My setup:
Firmware 9.1.0
AMS 0.10.1
Tinfoil 7.00
NXDumpTool 1.1.8
microSD format: fat32
Background:
I am able to install any standalone .nsp and .xci files if they are under 4.3GB (sd card file size limitation).
I can dump games from gameCard to split .xci on SD via NXDumpTool. I can then install them via Tinfoil as they show up as a single .xci file on the SD.
When inspecting the SD via computer the dumped .xci is actually a folder containing 00, 01 files, e.g.
>MyGameDump.xci
00
01
Again this game installed fine, and showed up as a single file in Tinfoil. I assumed (incorrectly) that I could just format my other split .xci games, which I didn't dump, in this same way and have them show as single files in Tinfoil.
My SD now contains something like this e.g.
>MyGameDump.xci
00
01
>AnotherSplitGame.xci
00
01
When using the file browser in Tinfoil I see the other games I formatted to match but they show up as a directory (folder icon) and when navigating inside the folder, the contents are empty. The game i dumped has a single file icon e.g.
MyGameDump.xci 8.0GB
>AnotherSplitGame.xci
(empty directory)
I have also tried unsuccessfully to install split .xci files packaged like this e.g. (which just results in the xc0 file contents HEX being displayed)
>AnotherSplitGame
file.xc0
file.xc1
What I am trying to do, simply put, is split large .xci files, package them correctly, copy to SD, and then install via Tinfoil.
This is all possible due to the fact that NXDumpTool can package the split correctly and I am able to install.
Thank you in advance, any help is appreciated.
* Please note that I am not looking for an alternative rather a solution to this exact issue.
