I'm looking for a third party Gamecube Controller to play games on my Wii.
But I'm unsure about brands and models.

I'd like to get an SNES controller with Gamecube connection to play Retroarch on Wii. I know of HORI but don't know if there are any other options out there.
And I'd like to get a Gamecube controller to play Nintendont in my Wii. Either be officially licensed or third party. Yet I don't know which brands are out there.

Which brands would you recommend me for both controllers?

Does this mean you specifically don't want the Wii Pro Classic Controller? I use it (and love the feel) for playing GC games, but then I've never used a real GC controller, so I don't mind that it's not the same. Mine came bundled with GoldenEye 007, which is a great light-gun game (even better than the N64 version).

Others will doubtless answer your other questions. Good luck!

Third party GCNs are crap. Don't get one. With GCN the triggers are analog so I to would recommend the CCP. As for SNES, I don't know have you checked Hyperkin, they are truly awesome

That's right. At least for the Wii I do not want the Classic Controller because it needs to be connected to the Wiimote at all times.
I don't like to use batteries just to play, that's why I'm looking for a Gamecube controller to play Nintendont and Retroarch.

Official Gamecube controllers are hard to find here in my place. You can find Switch Gamecube controllers but you could buy 2 regular GC controllers for the price of 1 Switch GC controller.

I have a couple third party GameCube controllers, and sure, they might not be like the originals, but I never found any problem playing with them.

One of them is a wired Harry Potter themed one that I bought for the memory card and the other one is a purple-ish WaveBird type.

I honestly don't feel any difference on the Harry Potter one, and the WaveBrid like is just a bit too clicky and the Z button is a bit harder to press. I also don't uset that much, so that might be it.

For the price, amazing. Don't go for scalpers that overcharge for used stuff. Get a couple cheap ones and I'll guarantee you'll have a great experience.

Just found a guy in MercadoLibre here in my city that's selling Gamecube Controllers at $14.00USD but they do not have any brand logo.

I would like to get 3 because the guy is making a disccount if you buy 3 (and so happens that I need 3) but I'm not sure if I should buy them because I don't want them to be working one month later to find out that the cord is broken or joysticks drifting...
I guess I'm gonna look for exactly those controllers on the street market. They could be cheaper than that.

@Interstella5555
I am one of those guys that actively refuses to overpay for used components. I'll sure as all hell won't pay 100$/€ for a GameCube (like in used shops around my town), or 30$/€ for a GameCube gamepad. I don't go on nostalgia trips.

Sure, we don't get the brand, but the brand is not producing those particular devices, and we never know how the previous owner treated the hardware.

I'd say, be smart with your money. I love my knock-offs. They work great for me. But I am no purist. I just want to play games.

Heck I even have 4 WiiMotes from a generic brand and they work great. One of them even has WiiMotion+. Barely any difference from the originals.

Someone may have success with off-brand/unlicensed Wiimotes. And certainly if you are in a country where the real thing is hard to come by and/or expensive, then I understand. This website is full of messages from people over the past 13 years that had problems with non-Nintendo controllers. And so are the Dolphin forums. There are also ratings up on Amazon for just how bad some of these non-Nintendo controllers are. I bought wireless nunchucks from "Memorex" and Nyko, and they were both pieces of junk that have spent years collecting dust in my closet. I cringe when I see all the "new" Wiimotes from China in eBay listings knowing that people are going to have problems with them. But it is always your money and your choice.

Wanted to bump this thread for recommendations. I have several Wiis to outfit with Gamecube controllers and my budget is not enough for official (used) GC controller prices. Please, tell me which of the crappy $10 ones on eBay are least bad.

Addendum: Analog triggers are a must. Several of the third party controllers I've read reviews for have digital triggers which would muck up any game that used the analog triggers (soft shield in Smash, Rogue Squadron games, etc)

All sub 10 dollar controllers on ebay are the same knock offs of knock off of TTX tech controllers. Roll the dice and see if you get some controllers that last longer than a month.
