Hello. When launching SSBU, the game immediately crashes (no Nintendo Switch loading screen) with the error message "The software was closed because an error occurred." No crash log is generated.
I am on custom firmware, and have previously modded SSBU successfully, but for the last few months I've had this error. I believe that it may be related to updating the firmware from 17.0.0 to 19.0.1 when sigpatches went down, as the issue started around then. The only games that seem to have this issue are SSBU and MK8D, both of which I have previously modded. All files related to modding SSBU (Arcropolis, Skyline, ultimate folder) have been deleted, but the issue persists.
Below are my specifications and some of the things I've done to try and troubleshoot.
Specifications
Model: Switch v1
Current Firmware: 20.1.5
Atmosphere: 1.9.1
Hekate: 6.3.1
Sigpatches: Current beta for FW20.1.5 and AMS1.9.1 taken from CURRENT BETA SIGPATCHES UPDATED FOR FW 20.1.5 AND ATMOSPHERE v1.9.1 prerelease download on this site
Payload: fusee.bin
SysNand, not EmuNand.
Things done to troubleshoot
- Fixing the archive bit
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the game (attempted with multiple sources, using both .xci and .nsp, Tinfoil and Awoo)
- Deleting game save data
- Updating Sigpatches
- Deleting atmosphere, bootloader, and config directories, then reinstalling Atmosphere, Hekate, and Sigpatches
Again, this only seems to be an issue with games that I have previously modded, which may help in diagnosing the issue. I also do not think that the issue is my MicroSD card as other games work perfectly fine.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
