My code is so bad even the bugs have their own bugs..

Skill issue if you manage to fuck it up this bad, honestly.

Probably the same kind of person who ignores all compiler warnings and then gets the surprised pikachu face when they find out variable types actually do matter when it is required lol

yes, they are kinda obsolete now (in modern countries) but it seems like they could be coming back at any time (with that proof of concept for a 125TB optical disc)
Can you tell me what end user product works as WORM medium? BDXL reach 128GB and are fast enough for cold storage.
The various announcements for extreme capacity discs were just... well... vaporware.

A newer and reliable cold storage medium would be awesome; surely better than privacy nightmares called "The Cloud"

well, it's prertty much the concept of a "proof of concept", it's just to say "we can do that", it doesn't mean it's reliable enough for common use, or that it can be bought for an accessible price (like 4k TV in late 2000-early 2010, or even 8k TV right now), or that it can be used at all by common people (hardware to actually use it).

However, the fact that they have produced an optical disc of 125TB still means a lot. That COULD mean that optical disc of 1TB may be closer that we think.
DVD used red laser, BD used blue laser, what now? Yellow laser? I heard that was something new too

Sorry, this will sound like :teach:
I'll keep it short. ;)

Wavelength of the used laser has to be approximately the size of the pits/lands. BD drive has three lasers. (Near) infrared, red, blue. Shorter wavelength allows smaller pits and more density. With blue/violet we are reaching the end of the visible spectrum and after that... there be dragons ionizing radiation.
I don't think anybody wants a machine emitting X-ray, which would ruin pretty much everything (discs) quickly due to being of high energy.

I've no idea what all these vaporware announcements used as tricks to fit more data on a disc. The short Wikipedia articles about things like "Holographic Versatile Disc" are amusing, but not helpful.
It is somewhat possible to add more than three or four layers, but contrast and reliability are going to suffer. Even a dual layer DVD+R has significantly lower quality (Pi errors) with most common consumer writers and that is just DVD density.

I want a gamma ray player, give me lead lined disk cassettes!

Edit:
To be clear this is in jest.
