Virgin system. I've backed up the NAND (V4.1.0), booted into SXOS created the licence file via the website, and now when I power up into SX OS I get a message I need to System Update to support the SDCX card i'm using.

Is it safe to do this? (Assume I should do this via the standard OS rather than whilst in SX OS?)
Also after doing so should I then create another NAND backup on the new OS version (or would the existing backup on V4.1.0 be ok?)

As far as I understand this (and I am also new on this, just been reading a lot) you should *not* do the update while in "standard OS" (booted regularly without jig/autoRCM ) as this will burn the fuses and you won't be able to restore back to 4.1.0 then (well you could restore back and boot via RCM but you wouldn't be able to boot the 4.1.0 regularly anymore after that).

Updating when booted from SX however will prevent the fuses from being burnt.

Also there is a thread here somewhere that explains how to make the SDXC work without update.
