Hacking System update error after OpenDNS Setup

I went the extra mile and tried the OpenDNS method to block updates.
Now I have an system update error in my download management menu.

Did I do everything right?

Also, I want to play Splatoon and I want to ask if I can update it without removing my new setup.

That is expected, you would need to remove the DNS changes to update any title on the Wii U.

As long as there is not a system update you can safely remove the DNS to update a game, just put it back on as soon as it is done downloading.
