    - Has anyone had any issues with their Switch overheating and dying? Is it necessary to dissect your Switch and add better thermal paste? Does the AC adapter need to be plugged in to prevent the battery from swelling?

    - It's possible to achieve 60fps in Skyrim by removing the framecap. Can we remove the framecap in other games and change resolutions?

    - Is it possible to transfer save files on FW 8.01 from a hacked Switch to an unhacked one without the unhacked Switch getting banned? This is assuming the saves don't contain any illegal values eg. unreleased Splatoon 2 content.

    - Is there any other information that you think is worth mentioning?

    I gues on earth.
    1. Overheating? No. Dying? No.
    2. Swelling? Not really. Unless you use the battery to much. Obviously the switch should be plugged in to keep it from discharging and degrading the battery.
    3. Never played it, but I'd say that the overclock isn't enough for stable 60.Don't count on this. Not sure about other games with frame cap.
    4. Well, you can. But I wouldn't call it safe no matter what (although using pure ams should be "safe"). But there is always a chance.

Does overclocking the CPU reduce load times in games which contain compressed assets?

I myself have changed the paste inside. It was so badly spread it was silly. It seem to be more goped on.
A fair warning, IF you change the paste, make sure you don't hit the game cart reader cable, it's very loose and easy to just nudge. (I did it... ugh)
Also I took of the shieldplate for the SoC and changed the themalpaste even under there.

And it gets better or is useless to do this?

It's like night and day. It's so extremly quiet I recommend everyone does it. I used MX-4 paste for this application. I also did something @AliciaBurrito recommended. I covered the whole copperpipe (probably not nessary) in paste, of course a thin layer and not a big glob.

I've wanted to change the thermal paste in my Switch, but I stripped the head of one of the screws in the joycon rail. So I'll never be able to remove the backplate to get access to the internals .

Use a rubberband, that should fix it. Then get a sparescrew.

The Switch uses 000 triwing and 00 philips heads. So you don't strip them by mistake.

Yeah I have the correct screwdrivers, but the screws themselves are so soft and such low quality that it stripped anyway. I've tried rubberband, super glue, etc and nothing worked. Someone told me to use a dremel to cut the head of the screw off but I don't have a dremel and don't wanna risk any further damage anyway .

I don't agree with you. I feel the screws are adequate equality. Well, you can always undo the two other screws, then use a slighty to big screwhead, then pull lightly on the rail and then start unscrewing the broken screw. Be two people, since the rails ribbon cable can get snapped other wise.

Is 1 gram of liquid metal thermal paste enough for the Switch?

    EDIT:

To clear up confusion for other readers

    Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut is ceramic-based

I don't think u should liquid metal the switch....Not really necessary. MX-4 should be just fine. That's what I put in mine and it's better than before and it wasn't bad as far as heat goes to begin with even overclocking. But if u go for it fill us in on how it goes.

Apparently the 8.0 update allows games to increase the CPU clock speed to 1.75Ghz during loading sequences. BotW version 1.6 takes advantage of this feature. Can these games override the CPU clock speed set in Freebird? Will they cause the CPU to run at 1.0Ghz after the first load screen?

Actually it was update 7. Games just recently started getting updated to take advantage of it.
