If Switch Mini is real then that pretty much has to be the successor of the 3DS... right? Otherwise the unknown successor of the 3DS would have to have some really unique features since otherwise they're just having two handhelds with different game libraries competing for the same consumer, it doesn't seem smart.

I think it will be just the Switch in two years from now, and I don't think that's a bad thing.

What do you think, have we all already seen the successor of the 3DS in it's slightly bigger current fomat, or are they coming out with something along the line of Smellovision VR 4DS?

nintendo can't do it.. there is no nvidia shield XXL or mini to brand it their own and call it a different thing :C
unless they use other nvidia device to make the slight modifications..

i find it VERY unlikely that there would even be a successor. Let the 3ds run its course but eventually any title that makes enough money will just be on the switch. also, the switch is already tiny, im not sure how much smaller they can get!

I would rather they did like just a home console version of the switch IE one that is solely for the house. Just a box that has the switch internals in it and no portability at all. I don't tend to play portables systems and I do get you would be pretty much taking away the main selling point of the switch that being you can play it at home or on the move but like I said I tend to only play games at home anyway. And by removing the portable element of the switch the cost would come right down. I would call this the Nintendo Home Switch or the Nintendo Indoors Switch or finally the Nintendo Off Switch lol but if they do go down the road of doing a smaller version of the switch rather than calling it the Nintendo Switch Mini it should be called the Nintendo Lite Switch.

I'm hoping nintendo doesn't pull the plug on the 3ds when the switch mini arrives (if it does).
