My sons switch lite will not charge and will not turn on. What do I need to check thats visible? Also, I can easily get into it, and I am able to use a volt meter.

Anything would be appreciated.

Thanks

Some things to check :
- does the usb port have some visible damage? (broken or bend pins)
- test the charger with something else to see if it might be the charger itself.
- use an USB cable and just connect the switch to a PC. Leave it for an hour to charger.
In the beginning it will be charging very slow.
- remove the SD card and try turning it on.
- if you have a modchip installed, maybe the LED of the modchip will give some indication.
All the colors have some meaning.
- you can open it up and check if the battery still holds some charge.
if that is the case, then the charger chip might be broken.
But I would recommend leaving that to a repair shop.

Thanks for the response. I have done everything on this list. Last night I opened it up and the battery had 4.07v of charge and when charger plugged in...it was reading 4.2v. Im assuming this is right. So the battery has a charge, but nothing happens. Nothhing shows anything on the screen. Probably wont take it anywhere so I am willing to try anything. I repair iphones so the dissassembly, etc...isnt intimidating to me.

Thanks...

Any additional things to try or help is appreciated.

When you opened it was there any visible damage?

- liquid damage
- missing components
- physical damage
- screen damage
