Huummm!
You guys seem to be correct regarding the USB port!
I have just tried the switch on my PC and it beeps but doesn't appear on Windows 10 device manager.

I plugged another known working Switch and it beeps, appear on device manager and my windows 10 tell me my Nintendo Switch device is ready.

You can try using Zadig see if it detect it. My guess is you damaged your port.

Try a different usb cable. It might sound weird but the same cable can work fine for months and suddenly stop working just for that one device.
try that too, for sure
The cable I have here works with any other Switch I have and/or have worked before :(

Would you mind in elaborating this a bit more?
The console belongs to a customer with "big hands" (true story) :P

My guess is that some pins is bent that why it is not communicating even though it charge and dock, probably not a lot you can except a modchip , if the point not communicating with external device pushing the payload. Zadig is a tool to install driver if it normally not detected.
