Hardware Switch Battery Replacement

Hey! So I have an original Switch bought day 1, and it has CFW. The battery is pretty crap and I understand that newer, revised models have much better battery life. I was just wondering if:
(a) A battery replacement is pretty straightforward
(b) Whats the best battery to buy for this and will it be a revised battery
(c) Will any Switch battery work on an original switch

The newer model uses the same exact battery. It just has a newer more efficient SoC which draws less power.
