I want to know this as well... Seems like the only thing left to do is find a flaw, but isn't it the hardest part to accomplish? What does make you (MassExplosion123) think there's even a flaw?

Finding one is the easy part. Exploiting it is the hard part. And because I've talked to some pretty high up people.

ya know yr supposed to have some sorta proof-of-concept before starting a thread for something like this. you don't actually have anything going for you at the moment in terms of kernel exploits, and your lack of experience with the 3DS (in terms of kernel re at least, i take it?) means its going to be a very very long time before youve got anything to actually show.
i don't wanna be that girl, but like... you should probably keep it to PMs(except not on this site)/skype/irc until youve got literally anything ready to publicly demonstrate.

Well, I've done some kernel RE before, and also have 3ds experience.

Stop asking for testing privileges unless you have a nandmod. Any attempt to change system files without a foolproof concept will brick, and that's why he needs an owner with a hardmod. I have one question, @MassExplosion213.. how do you plan on obtaining the flaw? We are left to interpret there is one due to y8 staying silent even though if there wasn't one he wouldn't care to deny like he use to. You say you have a lead. Do you wish to explain? What qualifying skills do you have too? Just want to know is all.

Wasn't the original first post of KARL3DS just the op asking for team members because he wanted a cfw? I mean at least Karl evolved into the unreleased/forever private SALT, but this "project" is still in its awkward starting point, merely a hopeless reach to some greater possibility. At least he's talking to people who know what they are talking about in the irc anyway I know I'm comparing finding a new exploit to a cfw working from exploits already found which are completely different things and shouldn't be compared, sorry. Anyway, as I was saying before; this is still an infant and could easily fail, but who's to say it won't if experienced people join in? (Like the KARL3DS thread in its first few sad little pages)

you're definitely not wrong, but also we moved on to pms really quickly and had built and released bootstrap after a few days. it was sort of a different situation though - working with all the existing pieces versus searching for more. you cant really give any sort of a timeframe for the latter. maybe i'm just SALTy.
