Hacking Super noob!

Ok i know there are numerous guides and such on here but im just getting really really confused with all these different things

so i was just wondering what i had to do to play backups on my wii without a mod chip and pleaaase put things in simple terms for me

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, i would give more details but it's not my wii so i dont know what updates etc are already on there,
the help is greatly appreciated

Well, you could tell us what system version the Wii is e.g. 4.1U or...

If it should stay on 4.1 or go to 4.2 or whatever, you know?
