Hacking Strange Issue: Help Setting up M3i zero?

So i tried using this guide.

I've set up two m3i zeros before one for myself and gf. Doing another for a friend and it's weird when i plug it to flash it. The red light doesn't blink instead its just solid red from the get go. Another weird thing about it is the place to insert the metal flash strip is right next to the micro sd card slot. On my m3i zero and my gf's it's on the other side.

I wonder if this one is a different version and needs to be setup in another way, let me know please help.

It should be the same setup...but IIRC the newer M3iZero's had the slot changed to the other side, so that isn't a problem.

It may be a GMP-Z003 model, which requires a new F_CORE.dat, which you can get here:

http://down.gbalpha.com/GBalpha/Softwares/F_CORE_v1.6.1.zip

I am unsure if the zip in the tutorial has this version or not.

It's likely the newer model, I have one, and the usb is adjacent to the SD slot. As for flashing however, I used that guide you linked, with great success. My best guess is you have an older firmware, as L551 said.

Bear in mind that you cannot use any of the special firmwares with the new card. No quad boot, woodr4, etc.

Reformatted my card to fat32 and tried with that f_core.dat file and it doesn't blink when i try and flash it. It has a solid light. Am i doing something wrong? Please help, thanks.
