I'm getting animal crossing from my friend tomorrow, so do you think that my street fighter header just doesn't work while the animal crossing one might?

yeah, if it doesn't work even after you changed the manufacturer types on one header, try another header.

All right thanks I'll try this new header since I know for a fact I've changed the manufacturer bytes on the template and then reapplied the template on disk writer and finally re wrote the whole rom. Hopefully the Animal Crossing header will work!

by the way, did you hit the blue button when you rewrote the rom? i personally put the rom in question on the 2nd slot, meaning i have another game before the game that i'm trying to go online with, and then hit the blue button before putting it on diskwriter again.

by doing this, i know that the sky memory isn't on the rom in question.

Hmm I know I pressed the blue button to refresh the rom, but I only had Pokemon Y on the micro sd card so maybe it didn't refresh properly? I'll try the header with two games then. I've tried all the manufacturer ID's, but do I change the Id's to my Header's ID or the Rom's ID?

you don't change your rom's ID ever. just change the header and the manufacturer.

Yeah I meant that I just changed the manufacturers ID on the template file. Do I change the template file into the Roms manufacturer byte or the carts?

i normally try it into the rom's manufacturer first, but if it doesn't work, might as well give the other bytes a try.

Hey, i was having the same problem with my sky3ds because my private header's manufacturer ID didnt match the game I was playing, + I didnt rewrite the roms to my sd card after putting a patched template, so i figured out a way to do it and wrote it up here.

Let me know if this method works for you! So far its worked for me and one other person. This way you don't have to try multiple headers.

Haha I've actually tried your method but it didn't seem to work. I'll definitely try it again since I might have just messed up or something. I'll let you know if it works!

Oh no! lol sorry I really thought I figured it out. With the way i did it you can't use your old save files or backed up games if the Chip ID is changed, so maybe thats why? It has to be completely rewritten. Also you might want to try different rom dumps depending where you got it from. Anyways good luck!!

Yeah I always delete the rom completely, change template files, and then write the rom again. I think My private header just doesn't work well, but I'll be getting a new one soon and I'm sure your method will work fine with it.

Ok so Your method ended up working for me! I just hope the save file does not go corrupt again, because last time my save file went corrupt and it deleted all the header info. I think the reason it hasn't been working this whole time is that I didn't check the Verify box when writing the rom.... Thanks so much and fingers crossed I don't encounter the error!
