Gaming Stereo Mix on a VM

I'm trying to figure out how to record Skype calls. The method I'm trying right now is using a VM to have a account join the call and record it using stereo mix. I think in order to do this, I'll need to install the soundcard drivers. But it can't install due to not being able to find the hardware. Any ideas?
