So from the faq we know SX OS will look for split files in the form of "filename.xc0" "filename.xc1" "filename.xc2" and so on to support ROMs larger than 4GB on FAT32. I tried using a file splitter and the output was filename_1(2).xci and filename_2(2).xci so obviously this doesn't work. do i just rename the extension to .xc0 and .xc1? or is there a specific splitter program to use?

We just have to wait for more information..

I guess they (or somebody else) will soon after the release publish a tool to split/merge those type of files.

Surely there will be a splitter. Team xecuters rarely drop an unprepared product... Simply wait and they will deliver.

Any splitter should work. You just have to rename the parts (in the right order oviously).

I think that renaming it would not be a problem.

exFat is no way for 99% of the people, since everyone of us is on 3.0 or lower which not support ExFat without Updating to latest.

But yeah you can just use Windows File Cutter.

Id say its the other way around.
Most people here updated.

I may sell my 3.0 for a higher one, so I make profit and get the SX 4Free.

Question is if there is still a marked for 3.0.0 ones ..
I have one myself and the only reason for not updating is, that I can now easily run homebrew without jigs or payloads <3
But with SX implementing a even more simple way to activate hbmenu, I guess I will update soon..

so my example is right?

I disagree. I think most people here did not update.

99%? Wtf. Definitely ecfat is fine for 99% of people who don't give a shit when we already have an unpatchable HW flaw.

So i posted this same quiestion at team xecuter forums. this is the reply i got from a VIP member.

"You using something that is not a tx product and it is not supported on here. we don't bent pins over here manual and make then weak. Google to find what you want."

lol

Its just a member... Admin would never give you that kind of answer... Just like any member from here tell you buy a PC, buy a PS4, buy this, buy that when someone is asking for Nintendo Switch support LOL...

Anyway TX will give all details for sure or already give you an app for doing it.

Gateway also came with the splitting tool...

Curious about this as well. And updating to the latest fw is not an option if you want a true softmod CFW

Well but if you plan to use TX then its pointless as it can already boot automatically using the "autoRCM" all the time without needing the device and most likely the same option will be implemented on first release of Atmosphere, though I don't even know if thats the right way of doing it depending how they are achieving it which most likely is "bricking" the nand to trigger RCM on purpose.

I actually would also prefer a better softmod solution and without going nand bricking auto RCM way, but oh well, whatever comes up I surely will want to try it.

ps: But I'm also waiting to see if TX will actually release the soldering chip, I want some cool extras, I don't want just auto RCM and backups running, I want another storage feature in my Switch, I would even pay 100€ for a cartridge to M-SD flashcard like 3DS had leaving main M-SD port for emunand only...
