Hardware Special Edition Zelda 3DS won't update.

I'm having trouble updating the system. I have the system on the charging dock while updating. Tthe internet is working fine as I can use the internet browser with no issues. But when I go to update the system it connects to the internet and starts to update. The progress bar moves a little bit and than I get an " An error has occured." I have tried updating multiple times. Does anyone have any idea why this would be acting like this?

Happened to my friend's 3DS
Try reconnecting to the network, and then leaving your 3DS on in the friendcode menu for about ten minutes, then try updating.

thanks for the info. It seems nintendo doesn't what you to update unless you made a friend code lol
