Snake is indeed 3rd party since Nintedo didn't develop any Metal Gear games themselves, BUT the first metal gear game came out on the NES (although not exclusively on the NES), so it's still a classic NES character.

pacman.. the only way I think they could add pac man as a real character would be to use the big stupid 3D pacman with arms and legs.. and I doubt anyone wants that.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a good old 2D pacman sprite that eats through the level or something like the excite bike (etc) sprites


I'd like to see banjo and kazooie in the game, I'm sure rare would want to have them in.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I like the idea of pacman and the ghosts, but I really don't care for that 3D limb-having excuse for a pacman and I don't see any other decent way of having him playable.

Yeah, but the original blue megaman looks so much better and is soooo classic! I mean when Megaman 3 came out when I was in third grade it was one of the most epic events ever! As someone who was a kid in the 80's all subsequent Megaman variations really pale in comparison to the original. Outside of Mario and Link, he was the most important video game character among me and all my friends.

I yearn for the past when Megaman was up there on the top of the videogame heap!

Of course the ideal would to have the different character options be the actual different suits of the different Megaman incarnations, but that'd be a lot of work and I doubt that would happen.

Megaman is a nice idea and all but...

I think Namco's Klonoa would be one of the best addition to the game. His furry power outmatches even that of Pikachu's, and using his Wind Bullet for a grab would be kinda cool.

If not him, then a Square-Enix character maybe. Maybe like what they did with Mario Hoops (Ninja, White Mage, Black Mage). I wouldn't mind seeing Warrior or Monk in Brawl.

I was really against the idea of a Final Fantasy character in Brawl, because I was assuming it'd be Cloud or Tiffa or something and I don't think the standard anime proportioned characters fit into the Smash Bros. universe well (I don't care for the Fire Emblem characters), but I hadn't thought about the classic FF1 characters. Those would fit in nicely and could be pretty damn fun! Still would much prefer Megaman, but not a bad idea at all.

Yeah, I wouldn't like any other Final Fantasy characters either (Cloud versus Mario? Oh come on.. this isn't GameFAQs) but I noticed how well they made the classic unnamed heroes fit into Mario Hoops, so I figured it wouldn't be bad to add atleast one into Brawl. Being 8-Bit also helps because they don't have a definite body

(Look at Pit in Kid Icarus, then look at Brawl, you'll see what I mean) so they'll find a way to be proportioned.

Who knows? It might turn out good.

Sonic was the first gag charector of SSBM, now Master Cheif gets a shot xD

If theres only three third party guest chars, then lets think of it logicaly.
Or rather a process of elimination.
Snake would be the series charector, like Samus, Ike, or fox (sorta).
Sonic would be more Mario, Pikachu, Kirby like with a semi serioius mood.
So whats left?
A funny goof charector.
Like Wario or Diddy kong.
With that I think Megaman kinda fits, but its hard to say.
Capcom and Namco have been good buds with nintendo the last year or so.
Mario Kart Arcade, not to mention Capcom's Zelda involvments.
Ape Escape and Master Cheif are funny thoughts, but would never happen.
Though a Metroid VS Master Cheif title would be cool.
Theres really no law that says a company cant make a game for a rival system.
Look at Capcom VS SNK series.
Tough SNK had been bankrupt around that time I think.

Anyway, Namco and Capcom are my two best guesses.
Then take their most goofy spongy loveable charectors...(er well, kiddish maybe) and then you have the two most possible.

I think we wont have to wait long though, it seems nintendo is announcing all the thirdparty chars during these three weeks.

Can't think of any other companies that nintendo might be buds with lately.
Well, that are well known third party devs with actual company defining charecters.

Thing Im hoping for the most though is for third-party stickers, trophies and all the little info inbetween.
Since there might be a trophy room like SSBM then I want a Konami NES cart, Sega Genesis console and a Capcom arcade box in there xD

Oh and Alex Kidd needs to be an assist trophy xD

Eh, Sonic's move list and all really looks good to me btw.
The spring jump seems a bit odd, but I think its a part that evens him out with the rest of the game. Wonder what his stationary move will be. Hmm...

Alex Kidd would be really cool. I'd LOVE to play as him, but I'm pretty sure they've said that they are only considering characters that have had games on Nintendo consoles. I doubt the virtual console counts.
