Hacking Someone give me some advice please.

I have softmodded my wii since the start of the hack but I have recently been given a chipped wii and I have no experience of them.

What I am wanting to do is update the wii to allow for the newer games to work also if possible to allow region free gaming.

Just don't know what I can and cant/shouldn't do with it being chipped.
