Hacking softmod with what firmware?

eyo hello fokes,

Some people could know me ,but i've a wiikey and softmodded my wii. This works flawless ,but my friend asked me to do a softmod on his wii.
He doesn't have wireless internet so his wii has one of the first released firmwares. So is it now possible to just install the new cios and soft mod it?(first install twilight hack)

it recommended to upgrade firmware to 3.2(u/j/e) and install twilight hack v0.1 beta 1. u can use firmware upgrader that came from dvd like mario kart.

err, i only see brick things in your sig.

The wii isn't bricked ,but i just want to soft mod it. My friend just emailed me and he has updated his wii with mario kart wii. Could someone link a tutorial for wii soft modding which is not outdated?.
p.s. if i just do it correct, how high is the risk of bricking it?

Read the post/nfo. It says some are optional right at the top.
