Hacking SNEEK+DI quick guide

Agreed nano you're awesome! While you're doing interface tweaks have you considered sorting the games in alphabetical order? I used someone's patch for sneek ages ago to do that in my own version of the source but would love to see it officially incorporated

yeah i was thinking about adding that in like sort by game type first (wii games show up before GC games) and then alphabetically from there. Right now browsing games can kinda be annoying. But before I do that I want to add in png support so it's easier for people to use covers they have from old usb loaders or straight from wiitdb. I also want to rework the title.txt loading so that it'll work with any line break style not just windows style line breaks.

Excellent! If you'd like I made a patch file for sorting in alphabetical order. Its not my code, I got it from here somewhere or another several months ago; but it might be helpful when you get to that point!

Sweet, updated to the newest svn, got it all working... except, Warriors of Rock freezes on the loading screen, any ideas?

EDIT: Same with Rock Band 3, freezes before the game fully loads.

I seem to be monopolizing the thread last night/today, just trying to get everything to work in UNEEK+DI. Installed my newest game and my 2 most played first. Iron Man (PAL), Rock Band 3 (NTSC), and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock (NTSC), couln't get either Rock Band 3 or Guitar Hero to get past the loading screens, but Iron Man I was able to play through the entire first level with no problems. I have a softmodded Wii (US) with 4.2u SM currently installed, UNEEK+DI r145, virgin NAND built by ModMii, source compiled by me using this guide. Any idea as to why those two games won't work? These games both worked in WiiFlow but we have a TON of DLC and are sick of switching SD cards and deleting/re-downloading content so I went to SNEEK.

Currently copying all my .wbfs games (62 of them) from my 250GB HD to the new 1TB HD in SNEEK format.

s/uneek+ di = no usb ports for instruments or mic

i use a burnt copy of rb3 for regular sneek and use softchip r102 and i found a CIOS that works with

s/uneek only problem is no downloading from music store because base IOS is 36 in the CIOS i use and

rb3 needs base 56

the rest of your games should work the only ones i ever had a problem with is my fitness coach2 and metroid other m(I think this one was bad dump)

So installing Cioses will get the games to work? Would you suggest the cioscorp installer?

Edit: We mostly do guitar so USB isn't such a big deal as we have 2 Guitar Hero guitars. (They use the wiimote and not USB)

Huge problem running UNEEK DI. It seems that my HDD is not supported, because my USB stick works fine.
I have a 5GB FAT32 (32 kb cluster size) as first and active partition with NAND backup and latest sneek files in there, verbose output is enabled, so here is my gecko output:

My 238475MB Drive is my second NTFS partition, not my first FAT32 partition (SNEEK doesn't support NTFS afaik). It seems like UNEEK didnt detect the FAT32 partition at all. At least I cannot find any output that points at my FAT32 partiton.

I can't seem to get this working. Anybody got any ideas?
I used mod-mii to build a fresh nand, same region, same version. 4.3e.
Tried Uneek + di and sneek +di but same results. Nothing.
Just gives me a black screen, left it for over ten mins and nothing.

Reformatted my sd card to fat32 but it would only go up to 8KB clusters so I did that.
At first I did a load of extras on the nand and when it did nothing I did a completely bog standard basic nand and it still did the same. Am gonna now do a dump of my own and retry it but can't see it working.

If you just start trying sneek/uneek, my suggestion is to try the pre-compiled r125 for SNEEK without DI and see whether it works for you (i.e. it only needs to have SD card, no USB issue). Once it works then you could move to DI version (either UNEEK or SNEEK). If it works then you could try compiling yourself to get the latest version (r146 now).

OK, so now I tried doing a fresh bootmii dump from my wii in its current state. Extracted it in showmiiwads, then used that nand and tried just sneek with no di.
And still it won't boot?!?!?!

Are you creating and using kernel.bin and armboot.bin from the precompiled r125 ones (along with SNEEK Installer application from download section on the googlepage site)?

If that is the approach, do you choose non-verbose or verbose in the SNEEK Installer? If you use verbose and have USBGecko connected to your PC then it is OK, otherwise it is better to choose non-verbose one so SNEEK will not just wait (i.e. black screen shown).

How'd you get it going? I've used a Virgin NAND from ModMii AND a Bootmii dump extracted with ShowmiiWads with no luck. Just get black screen (left for well over 10 mins) no flashes indicating error. What was ModMii not creating and how'dyou get round it?

There is no currently no Wiiflow version able to boot games in current Sneek or Uneek, but there are some guys working on a backup loader for it. They have some problems Uneek not doing what it should do so lets hope they find a work around.

Its modmii mate, it doesn't work right.
The building nand part is ok (well I think, currently can't access the game menu but other than that all is well so just need to check this out with a proper dump)

Modmii fecks up building the sneek files for the sd/usb for actully booting it. To rectify it I simply downloaded the official sneek installer from the google code page and used this to create the files instead of modmii, and it worked perfect first time. And I spent bloody hours on trying it with modmii to keep getting constant black screens.

I used modmii to build a clean nand with the dark red theme which I like, but like I said, at the mo, no 1 menu, so think its the dump so gonna try it with a dump of my nand and see how I get on.

Everything I wated works perfect though, main thing I wanted this for was wiiware with wifi without having to install any potentially unsafe wads. This solves that. Now if I could just get a nice version of wiiflow working in it I'd be complete and could just set my wii to autoboot into the emulated nand and be happy.
In fact, I wonder, could you install priiloader onto your sneek nand? so you could autoboot your wii with priiloader to boot your emulated nand which then started your emulated priiloader which then booted directly into sneekflow, from where you could also select your wiiware titles installed to your emulated nand.

So effectively, everything runs through wiiflow but emulated. Or is it a right anal way of going about it? The way I look at it is, easy management of your system in regards to wiiware titles on your pc rather than installing via wad manager tools.
Safer, no potential brick risk at all.
