Gaming SMS on the VC

Could anyone who has downloaded Sega Master System games for the VC help me out? I'd like to know what GC buttons map to the 1(start), 2 and pause buttons for the SMS when playing it on the VC

have you checked the manual?
Press the home button, and click on the electronic manual

in my initial search looking for this info that came up but someone had said only the wiimote and classic controller have that information. also if that information is only available when using the VC i am still out of luck as I have not purchased any games.
