Hacking Since when did the R4 support Ebooks?

I've just updated my firmware and in one of the folders is titled ebooks? I was wondering is that true? I didn't know we can get ebooks for the R4. Where can I find ebooks to put? This is new and exciting for me!

By eBooks, they mean text files.

Theres quite a few homebrews out there which are ebook readers. A good one is DSReader.

Yep, the R4 has ebook support, but for .txt files only.
Just copy them to anywhere on your card, browse to them using the R4 menu, and open.
Alternatively, use Moonshell to open the file - I find the moonshell font is easier to read.
If you have a .pdf file that you want to convert to a .txt format, try www.media-convert.com

how come some characters on the ds is chinese even if the txt is typed in full english?

it is by no means perfect, crashes when switching between very long (large filesize) books, but once you get it going its the best looking of them all.

the biggest hurdle to this is you must manually convert your books to xhtml 1.0 format.

I read the entire wheel of time series with it. I never would have managed that feat of endurance with hard copy books.

I can actually read comfortably on the train and my 'book' folds to fit in my coat pocket.
