I have a PSP 1000 running Prometheus 5.50 and I was thinking if I should install a new CFW (can I even do that?). I have a pandora battery but only used it to install the CFW 2 or 3 years ago. I don't remember anything at all so I would really appreciate your opinion on this. Prometheus plays fine most of the games so I'm not really that eager to update. :/ Thanks!

I think it's worth it. You don't have to use prometheus loader anymore (err, maybe you don't even do that now, I'm not sure. I skipped from Gen-D to the pro firmwares), they load direct from the VSH (psp menu?) and never need patching, just clean ISOs, drag and drop.

wait, I just noticed you were on a 1000, ignore the text about online under here, as you can't use that on 1000s. (for some reason I can't add text after it.)

Just don't use pro-c2. Get Pro-C. You can also play adhoc games online if you setup the proper plugin. Prometheus Server Status

The 5.50 firmwares are awful hackjobs so yes you should update. (6.60 PRO is what i'd suggest and for that check Rydian's sticky topics in this section). I'd also suggest you get familiar with MagicSave.
