I've only owned my Nintendo DS Onyx for over a week (Since Pokemon Diamond Came out June 21st) in which time i have only played it maybe 10 times in my room, so it has not had much wear / tear, i.e none at all =]

One of the first things i began to notice is that the top shell seems to be off-center to the bottom shell, by about 1mm, when the unit is open this exposes something silver / gold in the left seam / hinge area.
Also I can notice that it is creating a tiny bit of overhang on the right side when closed.

The second thing is the left shoulder button seems to hang away from the unit and is very loose, as i only own pokemon diamond (which does not use the shoulder buttons) i have not used them whatsoever.
When i depress them the loose one makes a different sound to the right one (which is nice and snug).
It also feels very wobbly when I use it.

The third thing is located on the touch screen's top right-hand corner is taken up by a white blotch.
Also the top left hand corner slightly distorts when little pressure is applied to that area.

So the question is...

Should I be concerned and seek a replacement from my store of purchase?

That should be normal. My black DSL is far from perfect (everything is off - yellow bottom LCD, bouncy screen syndrome, curved top half, etc), but I kept it as I am really tight about stuck pixels (and it has none

)

The shoulder button is a bit strange though. Mine are sticking out more than I have seen on others, but it doesn't feel like it will fall out of anything.

The LCD distortion is normal if you apply pressure. The white blotch however is not.

I suggest you take it back to the store and see what they can do for you.

Seconded..... Be aware though that "perfect" NDS's are few and far between.
Mine also has the bouncy touch screen and yellow-tinged bottom screen but apart from that everything's fine so I reckon I got off lightly

This kind of screen right?

youtube video - not mine

Mine feels like it's gonna break sometimes. When I spinwheel my stylus hits the LCD so there is distortion

I was referring to the other person - but that means that it is indeed a defect. I didn't remember mine being like this until I started playing EBA/Ouendan1/2

?

The bottom LCD was there since the beginning. The bumpy screen was not something I noticed until I played EBA (the spinwheels in particular)

~Some bottom screens look a bit off-white, kinda yellowish colour
(Something to do with the touch layer being thicker I believe which causes it to look yellow ? Can't remember now but it's not like bright yellow or anything, more of a tint)

Its normal for the top shell to be off center. I have a dead pixel on my top screen that is only noticeable when the screen is completely black.

I think what they're saying is some DS's have these issues, some don't. They're mostly harmless, so your DS isn't about to break or anything. But if you're bothered by them take it back now while you still can and get a replacement. (personally I'd take it back for the misty top screen anyway)

What I meant was that it jiggles a tiny bit.

Oh, I just use to hate that with my old Phat! It developed the problem around one year (had it since 2005). I traded it in, and my DS Lite is less than half a milimeter off-center to the right (gap in the left), but it doesn't jiggle.

I say.. if everything works ok. Keep using it until your warranty is almost up. THEN go and get it replaced under warranty

My White DS Lite recently messed up due to a cracked hinge..

Top screen had to be in certain positions to work. Kinda sucked
