Hi,

i wanted to locally setup the nx-hbexploit server for me, but i get into problems since its not reliable.

i used ubuntu 16.04 lts and dnsmasq, disabled dnsmasq in the /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf to start it manually
and setup a lighttpd for the webpage to try something else then the python http_server script but its not working better.

in /etc/dnsmasq.conf i have
listen-address=127.0.0.1
listen-address=192.168.99.171
no-dhcp-interface=
no-hosts
address=/nintendo.net/192.168.99.171

192.168.99.171 is my local ubuntu pc

when i open from another pc (with dns set to ubuntu ip) on my home network the webpage nintendo.net or ctest.cdn.nintendo.net i get the exploit page with install and run link

so for me all looks fine but my switch wont load everytime this page :(
sometimes i get the error code 2809-1006

can someone give some hints how to analyse more why it will work only sometimes ?

best regards,
Thomas

The setup looks right, the error "2809-1006" usually shows when there are timeout issues with the network. The Switch is a lot more sensitive to slow/poor connections than any other device I own, so perhaps you just need to move closer to the router ( I know this sounds like a dumb solution, but in my experience the Switch's networking capabilities are terrible)

are there any benefits if i will order the usb-lan adapter ?
did someone has it in use or some 3rd party one that works fine?

I've got mine setup on Arch using httpd and bind. This setup works great for me, and seems to be extremely reliable.

@minooch_e : which 3rd party adapter do you use ?

@GraFfiX420 : do you only use wifi or also with usb to lan adapter ?

EDIT:

i found out that my problem has something to do with the routing of the Fritzbox. My PC is connected per wire with the fritzbox and my switch over wifi. If i'm sitting 2 meters next to the fritzbox its often unrealiable but if i go upstairs next to my mesh wlan repeater and try to connect from there with my switch it works 100%.
