But yeah, I was looking through this post and raging before I realised it was 3 years old.
Wireless sensor bar + GlovePIE = mouse.

It's very easy to do,

Get an usb cable with one side standard male usb plug, the other side doesn't matter. Then you need 4 infrared leds. Cut the non-pc plugging side and separate +5v and gnd... Connnect the 4 infrared leds in series So that they look like below,

+5v --o-o------o-o-- -gnd

connect +5v,gnd to the usb cable and put the thing into something like a tube so that it doesn't dismantle... your homebrew infrared bar is ready (notice sensor bar doesn't sense anything and named wrongly)

Here is what I build for testing, it works ok with the pc...

ps: leds only work with the correct polarity of direct current... if you look closely to a led you can see that each leg of the led ends up in a different shape in it's encapsulating plastic... you can try one that is not infrared and find the anode (+) and cathode (-) shaped legs of the led by connecting it to a battery. if it gets on then you found the correct polarity...
