According to the person on this forum he got the usb loader to recognize the drive by disabling the standby with Seagate Tool. As far as I know Seagate Tool is for testing the drives, can someone help me find out where I can disable standby time? Also it's poorly translated but does anyone know what this line means?:

I noticed on various forums that many people had concerns because of the standby disk drive. Let it freeze the game during recovery, or it will crash the game!

then again I heard that the new Cios's take care of this issue, havn't tried it yet on mine (Seagate 320). I just don't pause it for long periods.
