Since everyone can now dump their own games there is no need for "release groups" and news about it all, but what the others posted above works...

The same has been true for most systems since Scene group meant something* or we could usefully use things (NES flash carts were a bit thin on the ground, and emulation was a different matter entirely https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/...mbitious-emulator-that-redefined-retro-gaming ), and it was wrong then as well.

The self checking/correcting, consistency and other such attributes that come with a guided scene and that the free for all p2p circles inherently do not have and almost can not have (at least not without effectively recreating a Scene style structure -- http://www.no-intro.org/ are not a Scene group but their approach to things is not entirely alien). From what I have seen if you allow p2p circles to run amok you get a trend towards "convenience" (the wii scene probably providing a nice example of that).

That already was the case for one release which was still posted on NSWDB.
Also, eventually, the type of release won't matter when tools will make automatic use of all acceptable types.

Hi everyone stumbled upon this thread when doing a google search. I Want to download an old update file for my Nintendo switch game, but i dont know how to download files from "scene" websites. all they post are .nfo and i've been gone from torrent piracy for a very long time, it used to be just piratebay and click download. Nowadays i dont even know what to do anymore. Can someone please teach me? I don't think i can post links here. So would appreciate if someone could PM me to teach me how to download from those sites. Thanks in advance.
