That is strange. I am using a S2 portable 500GB with all space used as one WBFS partition and have no problems at all (cIOS rev 14; rev 13b worked also back when it was the current one). A friend of mine has a S2 portable, too, I think it is the 250GB version, and it is working like a charm. All I did was formatting it after unboxing because there was some stupid windoze sh*t on the disk. After that I created the WFBS partition and had no problems ever since.Maisto said:The S2 disk wont work ...

I use USB Loader GX as my loader and Wiithon (Linux) as my WBFS-Manager.
Model: Samsung S2 Portable HXMU 050DA/G32
According to the sticker my drive is manufactured 2009.8. So at least models manufactured up to this date should work without any flaws.Maisto said:Yes that is because you have the old version of S2. there have 512 as Logical Sector Size
lufeig said:same happens to me, i got a 500gb S2 samsung hdd for my wii, it works flawlessly (WBFS, FAT32 and NTFS tested ok!), and only after i knew many wii users were having problems with it.
mine is HXMU050DA/G32, manufacturer date 2009.10
i live in brazil, bought more 2 units for friends, all them worked fine.
Maisto said:The S2 disk wont work becouse of the "Logical Sector Size" is 1024 bytes.
No harddrive with an "minimum" Sector Size on 1024 will work.
At least not yet. (maybe in cIOS_rev17 or Hermes v5 when we come to that)

Is there a list of Hdd that works with Wii?
Because the Hdd manufacturer doesn't list the sector size as far as I can see.
