Hacking Running Backups/copied games

So i have successfully installed the homebrew channel

now i really want to know how to play backup wii and gamecube games without a modchip im a total noob at this stuff so i was hoping if someone could just give me a step by step guide on how to install everything necessary to play backups
also do i have to have the SD card in the wii to run programs which dont have their own channel?

Without modchip you can't play gamecube backup games if I'm not mistaken.

As for wii backup games, you'll need the Backup Launcher. Do use the search feature and you'll find alot of useful step by step guides already written by others.

You'll need the SD Card mainly for The Homebrew Channels.

Channels that are already installed do not need to access the SD Card, unless programs such as MplayerWii or GeeXbox that read off the card to access movie files.

my firmware is at 3.4 Pal should i downgrade or it doesnt matter?

If I'm not wrong it'll just prevent you from reading trucha signed discs.

But I'll advise you to downgrade to 3.2. More pros than cons there.
