If you like Oblivion you should try Fallout 3, its from the same guys, just basically a different theme (Guns/post apocalypse world)

I used to have a great list of rpg games, maybe I'll see if I can find it.

There's literally thousands of RPGs, it's not exactly hard to find a game with your specifications. Try using Google, and if you actually can't find a game you enjoy, come back here and be a little more specific about what kind of game you want/don't want to play.

Edit: Well, on the DS, I think Contact is open world. Go give that a shot. Apparently the stat progression is similar to Oblivion as well.

There's not a whole hell of a lot of handheld open world RPG's. GTA is open world but isn't RPG. I would say Pokemon, but you didn't want that (even though it's one of the greatest RPGs ever made).

Heh didn't realize this was in the GBA/NDS section. I used to play Golden Sun and Breath of Fire a lot, Fire Emblem games are good rpgs too.

I would suggest golden sun for gba and chronotrigger for ds. some other good rpgs are the world ends with you, castelvania: dawn of sorrow and Dragon Quest 4 and 5.

You could wait for the Absolute Zero patch for Tales of Innocence to come out, because that will be brilliant [IMG] (and kinda what yuo'll be looking for).
