I saw a video where they rooted the s3 up to 1.8ghz would it be possible to push it to 2ghz?
Also does the carrier matter? I'm eyeing virgin mobiles 4g lte, I kinda was a gsm version because you never know where you're gonna be tomorrow. I dont hink I'll notice a major difference in lte vs 3g.

Also if rooted and I buy a prepaid phone will I be able to unlock to a different carrier say att?

Maybe, maybe not. Overclocking depends a lot on the specifics of your physical chip. It's entirely possible that somebody could go to 1.8ghz, while your chip would start overheating at 1.7, or you might reach 2.1 even.. or only get a 0.05ghz overclock before going unstable. It depends on the model and the specific batch and the cooling, etc.

Also rooting is not the same as unlocking as far as I know.
