Android Root and service provider question

I rooted my Samsung epic 4g touch (sph-d710) last night and wanted to know some stuff

Will installing a custom ROM/changing the modem mess with my custom provider (Kroger's iwiress)?

In most cases, running a new rom won't affect your service unless the build is extremely buggy.
Just make a backup of your System, Data, and EFS in your recovery menu and you'll still have the option to go back to where you were.

Remember to wipe cache and dalvik cache or you'll possible bootloop.

Make a NANDROID backup with TWRP/CWM.

Change your modem? Your radios? As long as you're flashing to a newer version of them that's specific to your model and carrier, you won't have an issue.

As far as installing a custom rom, if you're installing a new version of Android (CM11 from TouchWiz), I always format system, data, cache, and dalvik before installing. If you're installing an update of the same rom (say a new nightly of CM11 from an older nightly of CM11), I just format cache and dalvik. Make sure you always install your GApps package, too.

ok i flashed to recalked and everything works
